Current North Carolina regulations ban wooden pallets from landfills. For some of our customers that's good news but many will take a hit in the wallet because of these tightened regulations.
If you're smart you'll manage your pallets better to reduce the numbers of pallets you have to get rid of. Good pallets should always be stored indoors. Pallets with one or two broken boards are easily repaired. There's still a market for used pallets but with so many more pallets being available the price is far less than it once was. Pallet Express still buys a few pallets. You could ship your pallets to landfills in other states but you deal with the cost of transportation every day and for most of you the shipping costs simply don't add up.
You could buy a wood stove for each and every employee but... Well, you know.
Here at Salvage America we do get calls from companies who are hoping to get rid of old and unneeded pallets and while we do accept pallets for grinding we don't have much fun doing it and do charge a pretty steep price for recycling your old wooden pallets.
That said, if we're buying your scrap metals then we might be able to cut you a deal on getting rid of your unwanted pallets. Tub grinders drink diesel fuel almost as fast as you can pour fuel out of a 5 gallon bucket and we all know that fuel isn't cheap but with enough metal we can offset some of the costs and reduce the amount you have to pay out. With enough scrap metal you could even come out to the good.
Finally, if you're getting rid of plastic or metal pallets we'll gladly take them at no cost to you.
